KY Personnel Board Opening Investigation on Former Ag Commissioner Richie Farmer
By AP
The Kentucky Personnel Board will open an investigation into alleged improprieties at the Department of Agriculture under former Commissioner Richie Farmer. Farmer served in the post from 2004 to 2011.
The Courier-Journal and the Lexington Herald-Leader report the investigation will look into allegations made in a state auditor's report that alleged there were several misappropriations of department resources under Farmer. The auditor's report says that Farmer used state employees to take him hunting and shopping, mow his yard and chauffeur his dog between Frankfort and Louisville during the state fair because the hotel he was staying in wouldn't allow dogs.
