Kentucky seeks input on list of polluted streams
By Todd Hatton and The Associated Press
The Kentucky Division of Water has begun gathering public input on a list of streams and lakes in the Commonwealth impaired by pollutants. All states are required to compile such a list as part of a report to Congress every two years. The list put together by officials in Kentucky shows hundreds of streams and lakes that have been impacted through a variety of sources, including coal mining, cattle farming, even human waste disposal. That list is available for public comment at the Division of Water's website. Comments should be submitted no later than September 15th.
